  • At the moment there are no controls on arms transfers, meaning weapons can be sold to people who are abusing human rights. An Arms Trade Treaty would aim to stop this.
  • Conflict can cause huge devastation to communities, and prevent them from being able to develop and prosper. People need security and peace for sustainable development.
