IFM Accepts Woodcraft Folk offer to host
The International Falcon Movement has accepted the Woodcraft Folks offer to host its next big event in 2006 under the working title of Global Village.
We are delighted that the next IFM camp will take place in Britain, said Uwe Ostendorff, Secretary General of the Falcon Movement. Many member organisations took part in the Folks 2001 SustnAble camp and have great memories of it. We are looking forward to enjoyable and stimulating programme in the UK once again.
An international planning group is to be set up including delegates from IFM who will be elected at the organisations congress next May. The Folk also hope to run a planning meeting for young people from those groups who intended to take part in the Global Village, probably in the summer of 2005.
Outline plans for the event include an educational programme for participating groups to work on before the camp, a major youth conference, an festival of music and arts, and masses of fun and games for everyone
IFMs international camps are run by its member organisations and take place every four or five years. The last time the Woodcraft Folk acted as host, however, was back in 1946.
