 Co-operation

Human tangle

Aim: Co-operate together on a task.
You will need: A group of at least 8 people.
Duration: 5-10 minutes

Ask a volunteer to move away so they can't see the group.

Ask the group to form a 'sculpture' of a human tangle, entwining themselves by each holding hands with two different people.

Ask the volunteer to return and untangle them. It may prove difficult, and will involve people having to work together to find a solution. No-one is allowed to let go, but you can change your grip to make movement easier.

If you have a large group, you can divide into smaller groups for the activity. Afterwards discuss if all the groups co-operated well together, or if some worked better than others. What was essential for solving the problem?
