 Democracy

Whose life?

Aim: To consider the various people and things that influence your life.
You will need: A group of people.
Duration: 30 minutes

Who has power over your life? Have a discussion about all the different people and things that you think have an influence on your life. Who tells you what you can and cannot do? Is there anything you can do if you think that is unfair?

Think about things and people that are close to home, and also at a community and national level. You could make a list for everyone to see, and try to rank which you think are the most important influences.

Did you remember to include yourself? You are the most important person making decisions about your life. Although there are rules and laws we have to follow, we should still question things that we think are unfair - especially if they seem to affect more people than just ourselves.
