Circle time

Get younger children talking about school.

Introduce a discussion about schools with younger children. These are some suggested questions to ask to get everyone talking:
- What things do you like doing at school?
- Who are your favourite teachers? Why?
- Do you remember when you first started school? How did it feel?
- Why do children go to school?
- How would it feel if you couldn't go to school?
Explain that in some places not all children get the chance to go to school. This is because parents sometimes cannot afford to pay for school places, there may not be a school nearby, or children may be needed to work or help at home.
