Learning from each other
This week try and take notice of one time that you learn something from someone else and another time when someone learnt something from you. This is the beginning of ' peer education ', where we learn things from our friends and peers.
If you are still not sure what kind of things you teach or learn every day think about these questions:
- Do you hear about world or national events and issues mainly from friends or via the media?
- When you learn how to make or do something (eg. change a bicycle tyre, build a table, cook a meal), do you read it from instructions, or do you like someone to show you?
- When you want to learn about a new topic of information, like what to do about pests on your plants, or how to write a letter, or how to get to a station, do you ask someone to or do you go and find the information somewhere written down?
Do people sometimes ask you to show them how to do something or give to them some information?
You will probably find that a lot of the things you learn about in life come from other people and that you also help other people learn things too.
Why not send a postcard to a friend to teach them about the topics featured on the Global Village website.
