School Drama
Aim:
To think about some of the situations at school.
You will need:
A group of people, props if desired.
Duration:
45 minutes
Work in a small group of around 4 or 5. Devise a short play based on one of the following 'school' themes:
- Achieving success
- Bullying
- A new teacher
- Cheating
- Making friends
Think about which characters you want to include such as teachers, students, head teacher, parents, older students, and other members of the community.
You can devise your play by talking about it first and deciding on a full story of what will happen, or you can start to play initial scenes and invent others as you go along.
Show the play to other people and encourage them to ask questions about it.
People may want to know what might have happened if a certain character had behaved differently. They can ask you to do the play again and take on that character themselves. This is sometimes called 'Forum theatre', when you can do a play several times, each time differently.
