 Water and health

Being healthy

Aim: To consider what people need to be healthy.
You will need: Paper, coloured pens/crayons/pencils.
Duration: 20 minutes

Start a short discussion with younger children about all the different things we need to be healthy. You could start by concentrating on practical items (e.g. clean water, nutritious food, shelter, clean air, sleep), then go on to talk about other things that are important (e.g. love, care, respect, security, friendship). You could also ask what makes people ill and unhealthy.

Ask people to draw a picture to show all the things they need to be healthy. They could draw a picture of themselves, with all the things drawn or written around them.
