Issue 1 - Welcome Edition – Saturday 29 July

Count me in!

Elle Dodd

So, you know what the camps about and all the exciting activities, but with so many opportunities how will you choose what to go to and how will you make sure you get a place?
In the mornings there will be mainly village based programme activities with a small selection of specific workshops going on around the site.

Every afternoon, though, we've got literally hundreds of activities to keep you busy.

This paper, along with posters in your town and village marquees, will advertise the following day’s activities. Some activities will be drop in and some will require you to sign up in advance. Over lunch you will be able to work out what activities you would like to do and then during the afternoon there will be signing up sheets in the town marquees where you can put your name down for the activities you would like to go to.

The spaces are divided up equally among the towns, so everyone has an equal chance of going to each activity. However, if the activity is full when you go to sign up, and other towns haven’t used their spaces the sign up sheet will be put up in the info point so that anyone from any village will be able to sign up.

The first list of activities is opposite this article on page 7. All of the activities tomorrow are drop in introductions to the themes and centres. Tomorrow afternoon the first sign up sheets will go up to sign up for Monday’s activities, and, if there are spaces left after that, the sheets will be in the info point on Monday morning. The same system will run throughout the camp.
