Meet The Programme Team
Hannah Mottram — Under 11s
Hi everyone! My name's Hannah, and I've been organising 'The Fear Station', the area of camp programme especially for under 11s. I'm from Leicester DFs and Evington Elfins, and I'm looking foward to meeting people from different groups all over the world. I'm excited about lots of things going on in the Fear Station, like all the fabulous craft activities, performances, playing games and learning what we can do to make the world a better place. It's goiung to be great - I'm looking forward to seeing you all around!
Elle Dodd — Daytime Programme
Hi, I’m Elle, nice to meet you! I’m co-ordinating the daytime educational programme, with my theme teams and the super centres. We have been working for many weeks to ensure you have an absolutely fabulous time at Global Village and in between sunbathing and sleeping, are able to learn loads about the Millennium Development Goals and have a lot of fun!
Some of the highlights we have in store include an amazing simulation game about debt and aid; a fabulous cooperative obstacle course for you to negotiate; a Politically Active and Revolutionary Thinking Youth centre; create your own water supply, a chance to meet your descendants; A wide game about the road from peace to conflict and back again and loads loads more!
Carly Walker-Dawon & Evan Sedgwick-Jell — Evening
Hello there, I don't believe we've met? Well take a seat. My name's Evan, and with Carly, I'm organising the evening activities here at Global Village. This means that when most people's jobs are done, mine's only just beginning.
There are bands, there are DJs in the Cornwallis building and cafes, and there are films in two different cinemas. Oh yes, oh yes. I agree, it's all very exciting.
Also, there will be activities in your town Marquees, including craft and games sessions, as well as films. To ensure that you feel these (frankly massive) spaces are your own, there are a number of empty slots and I'm waiting for you to come to me with your suggestions to fill them. Your own ideas also have a showcase in the numerous open mic nights in cafes, comprising of music, comedy and poetry.
