Life in the PARTY centre
The PARTY team
Inside the Kent Pavilion is a magical, mysterious place, know to some as only “The Walkway”, to others as part of the most awesome PARTY Centre (The Politically Active and Revolutionary Thinking Youth Centre), and to most as that place that someone once mentioned but quickly changed the subject. However you may know it, the magical, mysterious walkway has attracted many people in the search of greater knowledge on the 5 PARTY topics, of Media Censorship, HIV/AIDS, Asylum Seekers, Corporation & Cooperatives and Climate Change.
Part of the walkway invites participants to 'Have Your Say', and here is a selection of their says:
Media:
“Nationalise all media – who can trust media barons”
“But who can trust national governments?”
“What if it insults people?”
“People have the right to say anything they want”
“To my mind it should be a basic human right”
HIV/AIDS:
“Does it matter who's responsible? Why can't we work together as a human force and stop it from spreading any further?”
“How can we ensure those developing countries have access to cheap AIDS drugs?”
“Just 'being careful' doesn't stop the threat of HIV and people dying”
“Don't take profit from it or it ain't gonna help! Get them out quickly”
Asylum Seekers:
“Refugees suffer EVERY DAY – they are not terrorists”
“Refugees should be fully checked out before they come and they should be registered to where they should go”
“If a refugee comes to our country they should get extra government support until they find a job”
“All refugees want is to survive, so let them come over and do that here!”
Corporations & Cooperatives:
“Corporations aren't evil, they are just here to make money like the rest of the world”
“Los saharanvis tienen derecho a un referendum libre y justo urgente”
“Why do people treasure money above fairness in bad organisations?”
“What's so bad about profit?” “It's not shared equally”
Climate Change:
“How do we make people change their lifestyles?”
“We have ruined future generations”
“If we are past the threshold is it not too late?”
“It might have happened anyway, but let's try to prolong it until we know how to sort it out”
To find out more, or to Have Your Say, come to The PARTY Centre Walkway in the Kent Pavilion, and find out how magical and mysteriousit really is!
