How Allaming!
James Robson, V2
At 2 a.m. on Monday morning, two four-legged campers arrived at Global Village. These were llamas belonging to West Ridge Camelids, in association with Project Peru. Project Peru is a charity based in southern England which helps the poor and impoverished in Peru, especially by supporting a children's refuge in the capital, Lima.
The llamas, Shadow and Puka that's the word for red in the Quechua language are here to support the project, and are expected to go on a walk round GV06 today.
As well as the llamas, we've got handicrafts from Peru to sell and an exhibition of traditional Peruvian customs, said Maria Moore, a member of the project.
The project staff are asking that anyone who comes to visit the llamas and take photographs makes a small donation.
